Field protocol

Safety and containment.

Containment is not optional on mold, sewage, fire, or demo. We isolate the work area, control air, and keep the rest of the house off the job.

IICRC Certified Firm

Why it exists

The rest of the house stays a house.

Opening a wet wall without a barrier moves spores, soot, and dirty water into clean rooms. Containment is how we keep the file from growing.

Airborne protection

HEPA filtration captures what the demo puts in the air before it reaches living space.

Physical barriers

Poly sheeting and zippered entries isolate the work zone from the rest of the unit.

Family safety

Unaffected rooms can often stay in use. HVAC to the work area is sealed so we are not circulating the problem.

How we run it

Barriers, air, PPE.

Physical containment

Seal the work from living space so the job cannot walk down the hall.

  • Poly barriers and zippered entries
  • Floor protection so contaminants are not tracked
  • HVAC registers sealed in the work zone

Air quality

Negative air and HEPA so the pressure points out, not into the house.

  • Negative air machines when the file needs them
  • HEPA scrubbers through the work
  • Exhaust outside when the building allows it

Personal protection

The crew suits the category — not a t-shirt and a shop-vac.

  • PPE matched to mold, sewage, or soot
  • Decon before leaving the work area
  • Training in handling contaminated materials

When it applies

Full containment is not for every leak.

Mold remediation

Stops spores from colonizing clean rooms during removal.

Sewage cleanup

Keeps Category 3 material from becoming a whole-house biohazard.

Fire and smoke

Limits soot travel while we clean and demo.

Demolition

Contains dust when wet materials come out before rebuild.
