The claim file

A file the claim can use.

Photos, moisture readings, and a written scope so you are not reconstructing the loss from memory a week later.

IICRC Certified Firm

Independent shop. Professional with carriers.

We photograph, map moisture, and write the scope. Coverage is still the carrier’s call. You are not reconstructing a story from memory because we already wrote it down.

  • Hour-one photosRooms, contents, and the source before demo.
  • Moisture mapReadings through drying so the file shows dry.
  • Written scopeMitigation and rebuild in claim language. You get the same document.

How the file is built

Four pieces. In order.

01

Hour-one photos

Affected rooms, contents, and the source before demolition so the adjuster is not reconstructing the loss from memory.

02

Moisture map

Readings through drying. The file shows dry — it does not just say dry.

03

Written scope

Mitigation and rebuild items in language the claim can use. You get the same document.

04

You are the client

We are not an insurer program shop. We document what the house needs, not what a network prefers.

Questions

Claims, answered.

Will homeowners insurance cover water damage?

Most policies cover sudden and accidental water — burst pipes, appliance failures. They typically exclude gradual damage, outside flooding, and neglected maintenance. Read your policy; we document either way.

Do you work with insurance companies?

Yes. We work with carriers and adjusters and provide documentation. We do not represent the insurance company.

Are you part of an insurance program?

No. Independent Chicago shop. Flexible, transparent, homeowner-first — while still professional with carriers.

Should I call insurance or you first?

Call us first in an emergency. Mitigation is what carriers want to see. Notify the carrier within 24–48 hours or as your policy requires.

What documentation do you provide?

Initial photos, moisture maps and readings, daily drying logs, before/after photos, written scope, and itemized estimates formatted for claims.

Will you deal with my adjuster?

Yes. Direct communication, on-site inspections when needed, and you still hear what is happening.

Do I have to pay out of pocket?

Depends on policy, deductible, and coverage. For covered losses you typically pay the deductible. We work the numbers as scope becomes clear.
